Mitzpe Ramon is a small town in the Negev desert in southern Israel. It's name Ramon comes from the Arabic "Ruman" meaning Romans. This town started off as a camp in the 1950s for workers building a road to Eilat. There's no real attraction out here apart from the beautiful desert landscape which is well worth that water break.
